Four killed in Northern Minnesota semi crash

A couple and two 9-year-old children were killed Wednesday when a semi driver slammed into several vehicles stopped for construction on a Northern Minnesota highway, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The semi driver struck the stopped vehicles while going at highway speeds west of Duluth, the State Patrol said.
This is the second fatal crash involving the semi driver in the last four years, according to the Star Tribune, which cited patrol and state court records. In 2020, the driver was hauling 14,000 pounds in excess logs when an SUV heading the other way sideswiped his semi.
